Ask the Experts: Sabrina- Why Primer?

Most people don't want to add an extra step to their makeup routine, or maybe just don't know the importance of a primer.  But, this might help shed some light on why it is a must.

 

The main benefit of a face primer is that it will make your foundation last longer and smooth out your skin. When you apply the (usually silicone based) primer, it fills in fine lines to make a flat even canvas. Also it will help diminish the appearance of large pores.With oily skin types, the silicone absorbs the excess oils to reduce shininess causing you to eliminate the constant touch ups. For drier skin types, it locks in your moisturizer keeping skin smooth all day.

Can a primer do ALL of that? Why yes, yes it can!

How/when to apply:  moisturize skin first, let that sink in for few minutes, then apply a dime sized amount of primer and focus on the t-zone area. Then wait a few minutes and apply foundation, and the rest of your makeup, as usual.
