Remedies For Chapped Lips - Ask the Expert: Sabrina

Most of us deal with chapped, peeling, or cracked lips at some point. We all know this can be very painful and sometimes embarrassing.

Some of the causes can be dehydration, weather, low humidity, cold winds, and excessive licking of your lips.

I have done some research and put together a few remedies that you can try at home:

  • Combine 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerine and few drops of honey to make a paste. Apply before bed. Shelf life is 1-2 years if in a sealed container.
  • Petroleum jelly can be applied anytime of the day and overnight, with immediate results. You can add beeswax for daytime protection and to protect from weather elements.
  • A few other ideas:
    • Rub a cucumber on your lips
    • Apply coconut oil
    • Apply aloe vera gel
  • Drink plenty of water, which will help to keep you hydrated from the inside out.

Hope this will help you all keep your lips looking healthy over the holidays and with the changing seasons!
